Reflection

In this course we have learned and understand the way sports and leisure interact with our society. The outcomes had a lot of new experience we heard first time such as IOOC MOOC which showed us the role of psychology in sports and the role of sports in the health of a nation. The work in this course was individual and teamwork. For me it was a new experience to interview people and video record them in way to make it as movie so I had use video making programs which was totally new for me. During our case study I worked with group of five so we had to organize our work and cooperate with my group members Overall, I think this course was a unique course because it has offered many things which are different to other English courses such as a high degree of freedom in our projects.The best thing I liked about the Blog or ePortfolio is its flexibility. We can finish our coursework at home, in the library. And help us to organize our work without risk of losing work which we worked hard on it.

Final Report LSS 3003

In this report I will write about my uncle experience on football in latest 70’s and earlier 80’s. His name is Saleh Alkurbi he was football player in Al emirate Club, which called nowadays AlWahda Club. And what is change in the players and the devolvement football earlier in UAE clubs and the life in the clubs before and nowadays.

At the start of the interview he said there is huge difference in UAE clubs. In past, they use to love the game and the way of life in the game and club it was a big source of entertainment that time. The love of the football attract them to go to the club earlier after the school. There was a lot of social life in the club between the players and administration. The players use to buy from their buckets for their own staff such as shoes socks gloves, the use to give them this things but the budget of the club was not that much comparing in these days. The life was more difficult than now regards of the transportation they reach the club by them own way, sometimes by walking and if they laky some vehicles give them ride to the club. Every day, they socialized from afternoon Intel evening when they start practicing. They feel there is more attraction between them and the club they feel it’s necessary to be there gathering.

In addition, that time there is nothing call professional there is no salary, when they play a game and won they get little rewards small amount of money, of course it will go to the club and management. The players and the management of the club they use to life together most of the day and they know each other very well in personal also. The team manager can understand the player very well and deal with them in case of any problem or anything.

Then I asked him if he play with AlWahda, he said of course it becomes change emirate joined with Abu Dhabi club and becomes AlWahda club and he was with them first 3 and 4 years, then he went for study and he got job offshore so he couldn’t continue with them but he frequently went to the club after that and he saw the huge changes in everything. One things becomes professional there is huge jump in everything the way they treat the players and the way of players became serious because they career and there is scale of the salary and the benefits and increment and rewards. What he notes there is huge budget in the club and the government built huge stadiums. Also he munched the players they are not socialized with the club they coming before the practice 30 mints and after they finish they take a shower and go.

We decided to visit two places,  Madinat Zayed and Al Wathba because we have  relatives and  farms there, so it will be easy for us to reach there and contact our relatives who have got camels which are prepared for racing.

IOC MOOC reflection

The knowledge is spread around the world and in different parts of our lifestyle. However, the course focus on how the professional sports ( athletes ) use the knowledge to improve their careers. The video talks about how to improve the knowledge and how important need it. Nowadays, there is many sources to get knowledge. For example, there are many websites useful for improve the knowledge. Then, he talk about use the knowledge as they athletes and deal with it at careers. Furthermore, athletes must have as much knowledge as their coaches give them the principals of their duty. To sum up, learning and getting as much of the knowledge help you to deal with coaches and improve your skills.


The idea of this content as to show how important it is to get the knowledge to help and improve your career. Moreover, the successful leaders build their careers using more knowledge and learning from their mistakes and searching more about the new things that connect with their duty. Sport and knowledge is important for any athletes to have and their duty must connect with them to improve their goals.
